Financing Your Flight Training

Flight training is a significant investment, and Brampton Flight Centre understands the importance of helping students explore all available options to fund their training. Below you will find information about RESP eligibility, government funding, scholarships, and other financial assistance.

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

BFC career programs are eligible for Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) withdrawals. If you or your family have been contributing to an RESP, these funds can be used to help pay for your flight training at BFC.

Provide these codes to your RESP provider when requesting a withdrawal for tuition at Brampton Flight Centre. Contact your RESP provider for specific withdrawal procedures and any applicable limits.

Please Note: BFC programs are not currently eligible for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding. Students should explore other financing options listed on this page.

Scholarships & Bursaries

Several organizations offer scholarships and bursaries for student pilots in Canada. We encourage all students to explore these opportunities:

Other Financing Options

  • Personal Lines of Credit: Many banks and credit unions offer student lines of credit or personal loans that can be used for flight training. Shop around for the best rates.
  • Family Support: RESP withdrawals (see above), family loans, or gifts can help fund your training.
  • Part-Time Employment: Some students work part-time while training in the self-paced CPL program. Note that the IATPL and College programs are full-time and do not allow for outside employment.
  • Tax Deductions: Tuition fees paid to BFC for career programs may be eligible for the tuition tax credit. BFC issues T2202 tuition tax receipts for eligible programs. Consult a tax professional for details.
