College Program Admission

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the College Program, applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

Age

• Minimum 18 years of age at the start of the program
• Students may apply at age 17 but must be 18 by the program start date

Education

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
• Grade 12 English (minimum 60%)
• Grade 12 Mathematics (minimum 60%)
• Grade 12 Physics is recommended but not required

Medical

• Category 1 Aviation Medical Certificate issued by a Transport Canada Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (CAME)
• The medical must be valid for the duration of the program
• Applicants are strongly encouraged to obtain their medical before applying

English Language Proficiency

• Applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency
• IELTS Academic: Overall band score of 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0
• Equivalent scores from other recognized tests may be accepted
• Applicants who completed secondary education in English may be exempt

Additional Requirements

• Valid Canadian Transportation Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
• International students must have a valid study permit
• Satisfactory interview with BFC admissions staff

Application Process

1. Review Requirements: Ensure you meet all admission requirements listed above.
2. Obtain Your Medical: Schedule an appointment with a CAME for your Category 1 medical.
3. Gather Documents: Collect transcripts, medical certificate, ID, and English proficiency scores (if applicable).
4. Submit Application: Complete your application with the application fee during the admission window.
5. Interview: Qualified applicants will be invited for an interview.
6. Offer of Admission: Successful applicants receive an offer and instructions for confirming their seat.
