Aircraft Booking Cancellation Policy

BFC aircraft and instructor time are shared resources. To ensure fair access for all members, the following cancellation policy is strictly enforced. Please read this policy carefully.

48-Hour Notice Required

All cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled booking time. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, or failure to show up for a booking, will result in a no-show charge.

No-Show Charges

Booking Type No-Show Charge
Solo / Rental (aircraft only) $100 per hour of booked time
Dual (aircraft + instructor) $140 per hour of booked time

Repeated No-Shows

Three (3) no-shows will result in removal from the booking system for a period of 60 days. During this time, you will not be able to book aircraft or instructors through the Wingman system.

Weather Cancellations

Weather-related cancellations are handled as follows:

  • If weather is clearly unsuitable for the planned activity (e.g., low ceiling, thunderstorms, icing), you may cancel without penalty. However, you should still cancel as early as possible to free up the slot.
  • If weather is marginal, the decision to fly or cancel should be made in consultation with your instructor (for dual flights) or by using good pilot judgment (for solo/rental flights).
  • If in doubt, show up at the airport and discuss conditions with your instructor or the duty instructor. Ground school or simulator time may be productive alternatives on marginal weather days.

Late Arrival Policy

15-Minute Rule

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for a booked flight, the aircraft and/or instructor may be reassigned to another member. If you are running late, please call the front desk at 905-838-1400 ext 0 as soon as possible. There is no guarantee the booking will be held beyond 15 minutes.

How to Cancel

You can cancel a booking by:

Please ensure your cancellation is confirmed. Simply leaving a voicemail may not guarantee that your cancellation is processed before the 48-hour cutoff.
