Insurance - Solo/Renters
Insurance Recommendation
Brampton Flight Centre strongly recommends that all student pilots and renters obtain non-owned Aircraft Liability Insurance before beginning flight training or renting aircraft. This insurance protects you in the event of damage to the aircraft or third-party liability claims that may not be covered by the club's insurance policy.
Why You Need Insurance
While BFC carries insurance on all club aircraft, there are situations where the pilot may be personally liable for costs, including:
- The aircraft insurance deductible in the event of damage during your flight
- Third-party liability claims exceeding the club's coverage
- Damage caused by negligence
Non-owned aircraft liability insurance is relatively affordable and provides important financial protection. We strongly encourage you to obtain coverage before your first solo flight.
