Noise Abatement Procedures

Brampton-Caledon Airport is committed to being a responsible neighbour. All pilots operating at CNC3 are required to follow noise abatement procedures to minimize the impact of aircraft operations on surrounding communities. These procedures apply to all aircraft types including fixed-wing and rotary-wing.

Communities to Avoid

Pilots must avoid overflying the communities of Inglewood, Cheltenham, Terra Cotta, Belfountain, Caledon Estates, and Mono Mills. Maintain altitude when in the vicinity of residential areas.

Departure Procedures by Runway

Runway 33

  • Climb to 500 ft AGL before turning
  • Track 320° magnetic heading

Runway 26

  • Track 270° magnetic heading
  • Avoid farms and horse facilities

Runway 15

  • Maintain track to 500 ft AGL
  • Turn crosswind before Old School Road

Runway 08

  • Maintain track to 500 ft AGL
  • Avoid overflying Kennedy Road area

Helicopter Operations

Helicopters operating at CNC3 must avoid overflying houses and farm properties. Standard circuit patterns should be used wherever possible. Pilots should exercise extra care during departure and arrival to minimize noise over residential areas.

General Guidelines

  • Maintain the highest practical altitude over residential areas
  • Avoid unnecessary low approaches and touch-and-go circuits over residential areas
  • Use reduced power settings when consistent with safe operation
  • Follow published circuit patterns and altitudes
  • Be aware of and respect noise-sensitive areas around the airport
  • Report any noise complaints or concerns to airport administration

Green Airport Initiatives

Brampton-Caledon Airport takes environmental stewardship seriously. The Town of Caledon received the TVO "Greenest Town in Ontario" Award in 2003, and the airport actively contributes to these environmental goals through noise abatement measures, responsible land use, and community engagement.
