Have You Been Dreaming of Becoming a Pilot?

Whether you want to fly for fun, travel with family and friends, or explore Canada from the air, learning to fly at Brampton Flight Centre is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. As a not-for-profit flying club operating since 1946, BFC offers high-quality flight training at competitive member rates.

Getting started is easier than you might think. Here are the basic requirements:

  • You must hold a valid Transport Canada medical certificate (Category 3 for PPL or Category 4 for RPP)
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to fly solo (14 to start training)
  • You must be able to speak and understand English

What Does Flight Training Involve?

Flight training at BFC combines ground school instruction with in-aircraft flying lessons. You will learn aeronautics, navigation, meteorology, air law, and radio procedures in ground school, then apply that knowledge in the air with one of our experienced flight instructors.

Ground School

Classroom instruction covering the theory of flight, navigation, weather, air regulations, and more. Offered in 16-week sessions, three evenings per week.
