Why Choose BFC
Why Choose BFC?
Brampton Flight Centre has been training pilots since 1946. As the flight training division of the Brampton Flying Club, BFC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the highest quality flight training at competitive costs. Here is what sets BFC apart:
Webster Trophy Winners
The Webster Memorial Trophy is Canada's most prestigious award for amateur pilots, awarded annually to the top pilot from competitions held across the country. Brampton Flight Centre has a proud tradition of producing Webster Trophy winners and finalists, reflecting the exceptional quality of our training programs and instructors.
BFC students regularly compete at the regional and national levels, and our record of Webster Trophy success is among the best of any flight school in Canada.
Our Fleet
BFC operates a fleet of 27 aircraft, one of the largest training fleets in Canada. The fleet is well-maintained by our on-site Transport Canada approved maintenance organization, ensuring safety and reliability.
Cessna 172 Skyhawk
Our primary single-engine trainer. Used for PPL, CPL, and recreational pilot training. Equipped with both analog and glass cockpit configurations.
Piper Seminole (PA-44)
Our multi-engine trainer. Used for multi-engine rating and IFR training. A twin-engine aircraft ideal for learning asymmetric flight operations.
Citabria
Our tail-wheel aircraft, used for tail-wheel conversion training. A great way to develop stick-and-rudder skills and experience a different type of flying.
Simulators
BFC operates several flight training devices (FTDs) to enhance instrument and procedural training. Simulator time is more cost-effective than aircraft time and allows students to practice procedures in a controlled environment.
Redbird FMX
A full-motion flight training device with wraparound visual display. Used extensively for instrument training, approach procedures, and scenario-based training. Transport Canada approved for logging instrument time.
Elite BATD
A basic aviation training device used for instrument procedures, navigation, and instrument scan development. An effective and cost-efficient tool for building instrument skills.
CAE Level D Full-Motion Simulator: IATPL program students also train on CAE Level D full-motion flight simulators (B737 or equivalent) at the CAE training facility. This is the same type of simulator used by airlines for pilot training and type ratings.
