Jazz Aviation LP

Jazz Aviation LP is Canada's largest regional airline, operating flights under the Air Canada Express brand. Jazz operates a fleet of Bombardier CRJ and De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft, serving communities across Canada and the United States from coast to coast.

Jazz has established a pathway program with Brampton Flight Centre that provides graduates with an accelerated route to a First Officer position. This program recognizes the quality of BFC's training and is designed to help address the growing pilot shortage.

Pathway Requirements

BFC graduates who meet the following criteria are eligible for direct entry to Jazz Aviation through the pathway program:

  • Total Flight Time: Minimum 250 hours total time
  • ATPL Written Exam: Minimum score of 80%
  • Licences & Ratings: CPL, Multi-Engine Rating, Group 1 IFR Rating
  • Program: Graduate of BFC's IATPL or College Program
  • Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

The 250-hour minimum is significantly lower than the typical airline hiring minimum, reflecting Jazz's confidence in BFC's training program. IATPL graduates complete the program with approximately 200-250 hours and can begin the pathway process immediately upon graduation.

Scholarship Awards

Jazz Aviation offers two scholarship awards to outstanding BFC students enrolled in the IATPL program. These scholarships recognize academic excellence and commitment to a career in aviation.

Jazz Aviation Scholarship

Awarded to top-performing IATPL students based on academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to a career in aviation.

Jazz Pathway Achievement Award

Recognizes students who excel in the pathway program and demonstrate the qualities valued by Jazz Aviation.
