Rental Pilot Information

Licensed pilots who are members of the Brampton Flying Club can rent BFC aircraft for personal flights, cross-country trips, and currency maintenance. This page covers the key information you need as a rental pilot.

Booking Aircraft

All aircraft bookings are made through the Wingman reservation system. Log in with your BFC member credentials to view availability and make bookings.

For tips on getting the most out of the booking system, see our Booking System page.

BFC Rental Pilots Facebook Group

Stay Connected

BFC maintains a Facebook group for rental pilots. This is a great place to connect with other renters, share trip reports, find flying partners, and stay up to date on fleet and scheduling news.

Ask the front desk for the group name and how to join, or search for the BFC Rental Pilots group on Facebook.

Designated Rental Aircraft

Certain aircraft in the BFC fleet are designated primarily for rental use by licensed pilots. These aircraft may have different booking rules than training aircraft. The designated rental aircraft are identified in the Wingman booking system.

If you are unsure which aircraft are available for rental, contact the front desk or check the Rental Rates page for the complete fleet list.

Extended Rentals (4+ Hours)

CFI Approval Required

Any rental that will exceed 4 hours of air time (including cross-country flights, day trips, and overnight rentals) requires prior approval from a Chief Flight Instructor (CFI).

To request approval for an extended rental:

  1. Contact the front desk or a CFI at least 48 hours before the planned flight
  2. Provide your planned route, destinations, and estimated total air time
  3. Ensure you meet all currency requirements for the type of flying planned
  4. For cross-country flights over 300 NM, a detailed flight plan may be required

Extended rental approval is at the discretion of the CFI and may depend on aircraft availability, your experience level, and the nature of the planned flight.
