Porter Airlines has established the "destination: porter" mentorship program with Brampton Flight Centre. This program provides BFC graduates with ongoing career mentoring and a guaranteed First Officer interview once they have accumulated the required total flight time.

Porter Airlines operates a fleet of Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft from its base at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, with service to destinations across Eastern Canada and the United States. Porter is known for its elevated passenger experience and strong pilot culture.

Program Details

The "destination: porter" mentorship program is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Porter Airlines and Brampton Flight Centre. Key elements of the program include:

  • Guaranteed First Officer Interview: BFC graduates participating in the mentorship program receive a guaranteed interview for a First Officer position once they accumulate between 1,000 and 1,500 hours of total flight time.
  • Career Mentoring: Participants are paired with current Porter pilots who provide guidance, career advice, and insight into airline operations throughout the hour-building phase.
  • Priority Consideration: Mentorship program graduates are given priority consideration during the Porter hiring process.
  • Professional Development: Access to Porter-hosted seminars and information sessions on topics relevant to aspiring airline pilots.

Eligibility

  • Graduate of BFC's IATPL or College Program
  • CPL with Multi-Engine Rating and Group 1 IFR Rating
  • ATPL written exam completed
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Strong academic record during flight training
